Transverse Duct Connector System. TDC.
ADVANTAGES
- The manufacturing standards, TDC construction tables, authorized
by SMACNA and/or ASHRAE, allow the use of thinner gages. For example. For
a 2" static pressure, Gage # 26 can be used on ducts up to 60", TDC Duct
with extreme reinforcement named Z-Bar, Fig. 1-6 Fig. 1-9 Fig. 1-10 SMACNA,
or internal reinforcement Tie-Rod type Fig 1-2 SMACNA
There is a great difference with sheet consumption. For example, Gage #
26 represents a 27.6 % less weight than Gage # 24 (Pounds / Feet 2 ), same
percentage for Gage # 24 to Gage # 22. MAIN SAVING. YOU
ARE SAVING A 49% !!!
- This sheet consumption reduction is exposed also in joints, Elbows, Tees
Reductions, etc. being manufactured in the Plasma cutter, which automatically
selects the area to be cut, optimizing the other pieces position in order
to minimize as possible the waste. SAVING SHEET
WITH OPTIMIZED CUTTING!!!
- Mounting. TDC ducts can be assembled on ground and
some spans can be lifted at the same time, as many spans as their lifting
system can rise. This is not possible with traditional ducts, since clamp
and Z bar result damaged when transporting them. Then, they have to be assembled
when they are already lifted, span by span.
- Modifications or Changes. TDC duct can be assembled
and disassembled without
suffering any damaged.
